Hello guys. It’s been awhile since I wrote something in my blog. Here’s something new that you probable would surely love.
I just want to share to you Google+. It’s Google’s own social networking site. It is really a catch. I can almost say that it is like Facebook only with few terminology changes. I think you better read what geek.com has to say about the site:
Google+ brings together all of your friends in one place, and lets you simply and easily designate and organize all of your contacts into different groups. Additionally, Google+ will incorporate some cool chat and mobile features that can come in handy when uploading photos and organizing get-togethers. There are much more details to uncover about Google+, but take a gander at the first five features that will come with the social service below.
- Circles — This is basically your friends hub. Instead of grouping everyone together as your “friend,” you can create different circles for the different types of people in your life. For example, you can have groups for friends, family, co-workers, acquaintances, and your once-a-week softball team. It’s super easy to make a new group and add contacts to it — just drag and drop.
- Hangouts — The old-school chat room gets an update. Send a broadcast to your friends that you’re online and ready to chat face to face, and your pals can drop by your “hangout” to video chat with you.
- Sparks — Designate your interests in Sparks, and Google+ will collect articles, videos, and photos of the things you love from around the web to read when you’re free (like an RSS reader). You can even share these items with specific circles of friends instead of all of your friends.
See more, including some demo videos after the break.
- Instant Upload — With Instant Upload, your mobile photos and videos are automatically uploaded to the web.
- Huddle — A group messaging system, Huddle allows you to chat with a number of friends on the go via your mobile phone.
How did I got it? It’s just simple. I had already a Gmail account and they just ask you to join Google+. I said okay and just like that, I have all my information out again, as if privacy wasn’t a matter to me, let alone having Facebook. I wonder if this has something to do with Mark Zuckerberg allying with Google. But either way, I guess I have another reason to spend my time in the internet. You can check the welcome page here: plus.google.com.
Much like Facebook’s home page or profile page, in Google+, you can share what’s new in the stream section. You can tag your friends using the + sign when you want to mention them in your comments. When you want to share in the stream section, you can specify what circle of people can view/receive it (like friends, family, etc). You can also chat and video chat. You can share and post pictures, videos, etc under the sun. haha! I don’t know what Google’s up to with this but Google+ can surely level up and compete with Facebook.
Below I have taken a screen shot at my Google+ page just for viewing purposes. (Note: All rights reserved as to what ever may happen. I don’t even know if what I said made any sense. haha)
I’m not sure If you can have Google+ without a Gmail account, I have never explored it yet. Just update me for the latest. 😉
So why not check it out for yourself and don’t forget to add me to your circle of friends. 😀 Don’t ignore it, it maybe the next big thing. hahaha!
Why not check this slide show: What G is really about!
Check out this simple shortcuts and tips in using Google+.
side note: isn’t it like weird having the + sign? I’m not sure but I think + sign is used to acknowledge a person in writing when he is already dead, like for example, Jose Rizal (+) or Jose Rizal+. Have you ever heard of that notion? And seeing it on my profile, +ai, it kind of gives me an eerie feeling. 😦
Simply if it makes you say that “Man, Life’s Good!” :p
I have been looking at a lot of smart phones and android phones in the internet lately searching for some awesome new technology out. There are a lot of possible choices raging from Apple’s new iPhone 4 to HTC, Blackberry, Nokia, and Samsung. Right now my eyes are fixed with the newly out LG Optimus Black and 2x. I heard that it’s not just your ordinary smartphone, it’s a GENIUS phone! So I was like woooaah, genius? How?
I took a look at it’s specs and wow I sure hope I can have one of this babies. Let me show you some features that I really love about the new Optimus Black and 2x.
For me thin is sexy and with the LG Optimus Black 122x64x9.2 mm dimension and only weights 109g, it is super thin and super light I wouldn’t mind carrying it around all day.
Spectacular Image Display
The phone is a 4-.0 inch display (480 by 800 pixels) that uses NOVA technology designed to be the brightest but at the same time reduces power consumption by half during general indoor use compared to a conventional LCD. It has a Gorilla Glass display which is an unscratchable, unshatterable material used to protect the screen. It has by far touch screen controls and multi-touch input method as well as a sensor for UI auto-rotate and auto turns off.
Top of the Line Hardware
Its OS is Android v2.2 (Froyo) and is upgradable v.23 (Gingerbread). Optimus 2x has a dual core A9 processor probably the first of it’s kind so it’s quite fast for a fairly priced smarthphone. It is perfect for running game apps and doing multi-tasking apps. Angry birds here I come. Hahaha.
Other Cool Features
Some of the major plus this phone has for me is it’s camera, 8 MP primary and 1.3 MP secondary for 2x while 5 MP primary and 2 MP secondary for the Optimus Black with Geo-tagging, face and smile detection, touch focus, and image stabilization features. It is perfect for travel and leisure times with my family and friends. Also, I can take videos at HD so it really handy. I guess I don’t have to buy a digital cam or a DSLR.
As a music addict, I also love the fact that it has a radio and a music player. In that way I can listen to ALL my favorite songs all day. And with a 32 GB microSD memory I don’t have to worry about running out of space for storing some more favorite mp3’s, videos, and photo. But just in case I need the space, its USB and Bluetooth technology will help me through all my file transfers.
Another thing is that it is WiFi ready (WiFi Direct, another first of it’s kind) so you can browse the internet in hotspots while doing SMS in threaded view as well as IM and checking emails.
Just writing about it and looking at its specs and reviews, I am so won over. What else can I look for; it seems that all I need is right here in LG’s latest genius phones: I can take photos, take videos, surf the net, call my family, text my friends, listen to my music, be well manage using it’s organizer, and not get lost using its digital compass. It’s an all-in-one handy genius phone that you and I will truly love. LG Optimus Black and Optimus 2x reflects that the company has still the competitive advancement in technology, as witnessed by both the sleek display and design of the phones, surely offering the world’s brightest screen and the world’s slimmest design in a very attractive and smart package. You’ll not just look genius with these phones, you will feel genius! *wink*
Life is GOOD with Optimus. Optimus is more than just smart. It’s genius. Visit lgoptimus.ph for more information!

For those people that need the internet anytime anywhere.
For travellers, students, teachers, business people, and all types of people out their I’m sure you have heard of internet broadband. That small plug-it thingy that gives you access to the internet either prepaid or postpaid.
So the question here is which is more convenient to use? Smart Bro or Globe Tattoo
I’m not sure about facts but I write this based on experienced. I have a Globe Tatoo and Smart Bro.
First of all, I just want to share my experience using the new smartbro I borrowed from friend. She said it had 120 hr free internet, so I was kinda excited about it. It’s like 5 days of free internet at home. I don’t have to go to the internet cafe. I don’t have to load the Globe Tattoo for a 1-day unlimited internet access which cost 50 php. Now when I plugged it to my laptop, I had expected that it can access the net already, but it didn’t. So I switched to Globe Tattoo for about a day.
When the unli expired, I reverted to Smart Bro. Keeping my hopes up for a connection. I got a bit frustrated though, because I don’t know what I’m going to do with it. I loaded 10 php to it and somehow was able to connect but the signal was too low. It seemed ages for the page to load. After a few minutes, the connection died ’cause the load was consumed. Still no sign for the free internet. My blood is boiling in frustration. Stupid Smart Bro! such a waste of time and money.
My friend, the one who lend me the plug-it, tried to calm me down and offered to load it with 200 php so I can register to a 5-day unlimited internet access. So I agreed and to cut the story short, I was able to register. And guess what? a message then came in the inbox telling me that my account has been credited with the 120 hrs free internet. So I was like, “WHAT?!?! seriouly?! of all the time? .. whew”.
Moving on. I was somehow relieved that I can access it now but another problem unfolds before me. It seems that data transmission was very low and signal is also low. Gosh. SmartBro give me a break, would you?! may pag nag-Globe Tattoo nlng ko.
And so now I have to bear with smart bro for a while. I am not sure if Globe has other unlimited offers. At least I can surf the net. It’s just a bummer though cause I can’t use the full capabilitities of the broadband .
Going back to the question of which is much better.. hmmmm.. let me see. I guess it depends. When I was at Iligan SmartBro was working fine for me. Here, it’s okay too. I can get by. ^__^ but Globe Tatoo works much better when I’m here at home in Gensan. Come to think of it, while I was writing this blog the connection was quite stable and I was using SmartBro.
Some say when you’re in remote places (sa bukid, ika nga nila) you use SmartBro. For Globe Tatoo, I’m not sure, in cities? *hahaha*
So I guess it just depends on where you are. Just a reminder, be patient with it. And before you buy one, ask informations about how it works
Have a Merry Christmas!
Thanks for reading.. don’t forget to like. ^_^
