Love: Another Definition

I was just browsing some folders on the lab and I stumbled upon a file to which I never did intend to open but it just enticed me to I don’t know what reason. As I was reading it, I was like, “oh great one of those love stuffs. Pls spare me“. Through the end of the article, I kind of like what the writer shared so I’m posting it to share it with you too guys. This is just a snippet. The topic on love gets a lot of buzz for people. It’s kind of post valentine message to everyone.

For all you people who say “I LOVE YOU”, when you have no clue what love is exactly, something to ponder upon:

Are your palms sweaty, is your heart racing and is your voice caught with your chest? It isn’t love, it’s LIKE.

You can’t keep your eyes or hands off at them, right? It isn’t love, it’s LUST.

Are you proud and eager to show them off? It isn’t love, it’s LUCK.

Do you want them because you know they’re there? It isn’t love, it’s LONELINESS.

Are you there because it’s what everyone wants? It isn’t love, it’s LOYALTY.

Are you there because they kissed you, or held your hand? It isn’t love, its LOW CONFIDENCE.

Do you stay for their confessions of love because you don’t want to hurt them? It isn’t love, it’s PITY.

Do you belong to them because their sight makes your heart skip a beat? It isn’t love, it’s INFATUATION.

Do you pardon their faults because you care about them? It isn’t love, it’s FRIENDSHIP.

Do you tell them everyday they are the only one you think of? It isn’t love, it’s a LIE.

Are you willing to give all your favorite things for their sake? It isn’t love, it’s CHARITY.

Does your heart ache and break when they’re sad? Then, it’s LOVE.

Do you cry for their pain, even when they’re strong? Then, it’s LOVE.

Do their eyes see your true heart, and touch your soul so deep it hurts? Then, it’s LOVE.

Do you stay because a blinding, incomprehensible mix of pain and relation pulls you close and hold you there? Then, it’s LOVE.

Do you accept their faults because they’re part of who you are? Then, it’s LOVE.

Are you attracted to others, but stay with them faithfully without regret? Then, it’s LOVE.

Would you give them your heart, your life, your death? Then, it’s LOVE.

Wouldn’t you agree? Let us not forget one of the most profound definition of love from the Living Word:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away

– 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Keep that as a reminder friends, put that in your hearts, cause in time you will be tested. If you think you have loved, try to think again. 🙂

  1. why pain becomes the indicator or the precedent in knowing that we love?

  2. Why do you think God designed it this way? What is His purpose?

    • LovelessLover, hello. I don’t quite understand your question. But as I understood, you mean to ask why God designed love this way?

Let us acknowledge the fact that God is love. Love is felt from the heart and not based on outward disposition. Of course it depends on the kind of love we are talking about. Everything has a purpose. God has a plan for each of us. We cannot know exactly why God designed it that way, all we have to do is trust Him. How do you know if we can trust Him, you can find it in the scriptures.
